Col. Michael Foster, commander of the U.S. 173rd Airborne Brigade, said the exercises are "an absolutely unique opportunity for us" and "the way we are going to be fighting in the future." Georgia has aspirations of joining NATO and contributed troops to the NATO-led military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the field exercise held Sunday on the Vaziani base outside the Georgian capital, troops simulated a mission to drive the enemy from a populated center and an airport. The exercises began May 11 with theoretical training and end on May 24. Sunday was the first day of field exercises. U.S. and Georgian troops simulate a combined attack on a building occupied by the ''enemy'' during joint military exercises in the South Caucasian republic. Huge military exercises are underway off and around Britain’s coast, but NATO insists they are not a deliberate response to the Russian military’s increasingly brazen behavior. The British-led war games are code named Joint Warrior and the numbers are all big: 13,000 personnel from 14 countries operating more than 50 ships and submarines as well as 70 aircraft. NATO says the planning started long before Russia renewed its status as the alliance’s chief adversary. For more than a year NATO has been condemning Russia’s actions in Ukraine as well as its frequent, large scale, snap military drills and those long-range Bear bombers repeatedly flying very close to NATO airspace. So, if Joint Warrior is not a deliberate response, it’s certainly a timely one. CNN was invited to spend a day aboard one of the vessels taking part — the U.S. Navy’s guided missile cruiser USS Vicksburg. It’s the current flag ship of a standing NATO maritime group. Commanding officer Rear Adm. Brad Williamson says Russia’s behavior is an added motivation to do well in these exercises. The latest in a series of provocative military exercises conducted by Baltic nations, Lithuania began a new drill on Wednesday. Modeled directly on the West’s imagined “invasion” of Crimea, the exercise is meant as a show of Vilnius flexing its muscles at Moscow, the Lithuanian president said. russia u.s. troops games "war games" game "united states" usa america "u.s. army" georgia georgian exercise training 2015 2016 military fight fighting national battle tanks land russian "eastern europe" europe european elite money cash paintball "air force" team partner partnership fighting agenda news media entertainment "battle tank" defense "self defense" euro "elite nwo agenda" trendy trends trending video footage alex jones infowars warning exposed jade helm 15 rothschild rothchilds documentary george soros bilderberg 2015 anonymous we are change david icke louis farrakhan daboo77 daboo777 montagraph “We will not allow ourselves to be taken easily,” Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite told Reuters. “We try to learn from the Ukrainian and Crimean situation…We’re not fearing anybody,” she added, referencing the often cited, though never proven, allegation that Crimea’s reunification with Russia was the result of a military takeover. Lightning Strike is the latest escalation by President Grybauskaite, who has steadily been leading the charge in Baltic Russophobia. Having previously called Russia a terrorist state, she has reestablished her country’s military draft, inciting fears about “Russian aggression.” The Lithuanian government has also reportedly begun teaching citizens what to do in the event of war. Media outlets in Iran are reporting that Iran plans to participate in a war game with Russia, China and Syria in the near future and preparations will be carried out in the next few days. ShamLife said that China had gained permission to move twelve ships loaded with military equipment through the Suez Canal. The ships will reach the Syrian ports of Tartus and Latakia within two weeks, the website said. Russian amphibious landing ship, the Caesar Kunikov, departed the Black Sea port of Sevastopol on Tuesday for what a Black Sea Fleet officer explained was a routine exercise. British troops are also engaging in Estonia’s largest military exercise since its independence, which will involve over 7,000 reservists. British officials have stated that the war games are meant to reassure Baltic nations of its commitment to assist in the event of hostile “Russian aggression.”

One of the most effective responses has been Fuerzas Comando, an inter-military and special ops exercise attended by forces from across North, Central, and South America. The goals of the event are to promote inter-military relationships, increase interoperability, and improve regional security. This year, military forces from 17 countries, ranging from Belize to the United States, came together for the exercises at one of Colombia's biggest military bases, Fort Tolemaida. While each country has their own set of security threats, they all share the need to boost and innovate their military capabilities. In this episode of War Games, VICE News travels to Colombia to attend Fuerzas Comando, and see how these countries are working together to learn how to better combat threats within and beyond their borders. more at http://quickfound.net/links/military_news_and_links.html 'In recent months, in the press, over the radio, and on television, the American people have heard of the new and awesome developments in warfare which put modern muscle in the Army. Such muscle is the 280mm cannon, the Honest John artillery rocket and the Corporal, a long-range guided missile. Such modern muscle is tactical television and air delivery of masses of men and their equipment. In "Exercise Flash Burn" viewers see what happens when our forces are attacked by an aggressor and how these weapons are employed on the battlefield. For this issue THE BIG PICTURE takes its audience to a deserted area in North Carolina for the answer.' Exercises in the 20th century have often been identified by a unique codename in the same manner as military operations... Types Field exercise The more typically thought of exercise is the field exercise, or the full-scale rehearsal of military maneuvers as practice for warfare. Historical names for field exercises in the Commonwealth include 'schemes.' In a field exercise, the two sides in the simulated battle are typically called "red" and "blue", to avoid naming a particular adversary. Simulation Main article: Military simulation Other types of exercise include the TEWT (Tactical Exercise Without Troops), also known as a sand table, map or cloth model exercise. This type of exercise (in recent years assisted by computer simulation) allows commanders to manipulate models through possible scenarios in military planning. This is also called warfare simulation, or in some instances a virtual battlefield and in the past has been described as "wargames." Such examples of modern military wargames include DARWARS, a serious game developed since 2003 by the US DARPA agency with BBN Technologies, a defense contractor which was involved in the development of packet switching, used for ARPANET, and which developed the first computer modem in 1963... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Bragg Fort Bragg is a major United States Army installation, located in Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett and Moore counties, North Carolina, near Fayetteville but also borders the towns of Spring Lake and Southern Pines. It was also a census-designated place in the 2010 Census, during which a population of 39,457 was identified. The fort is named for Confederate general Braxton Bragg. It covers over 251 square miles (650 km2). It is the home of the US Army airborne forces and Special Forces, as well as U.S. Army Forces Command and U.S. Army Reserve Command... Cold War Following World War II, the 82nd Airborne Division was permanently stationed at Fort Bragg, the only large unit there for some time. In July 1951, the XVIII Airborne Corps was reactivated at Fort Bragg. Fort Bragg became a center for unconventional warfare, with the creation of the Psychological Warfare Center in April 1952, followed by the 10th Special Forces Group. In 1961, the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) was activated at Fort Bragg, with the mission of training counter-insurgency forces in Southeast Asia. Also in 1961, the "Iron Mike" statue, a tribute to all Airborne soldiers, past, present and future, was dedicated. More than 200,000 young men underwent basic combat training here during the period 1966–70. At the peak of the Vietnam War in 1968, Fort Bragg's military population rose to 57,840. In June 1972, the 1st Corps Support Command arrived at Fort Bragg. In the 1980s, there was a series of deployments of tenant units to the Caribbean, first to Grenada in 1983, Honduras in 1988, and to Panama in 1989. The 5th Special Forces Group departed Fort Bragg in the late 1980s...

The military exercise served the purpose of "planning, preparation and conducting combat operations," but many defense analysts interpreted the show of military force to be a direct message to Ukraine and its Western allies regarding Russia’s control over the Crimean peninsula. The exercise was conducted at the Opuk training range on the Black Sea Coast with drills involving warships, aircraft and tanks, with Moscow firing its S-300 and S-400 missile systems. "On such a scale and with the deployment of different force groupings, such drills are being held for the first time," said defense ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov highlighting the unprecedented nature of the massive show of Russian military force. "This training range is the biggest on the Crimean peninsula, which allows for such exercises to be held." The drills were overseen by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and the head of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov as well as Crimean leader Sergei Aksyonov. "Strategic drills are essential to military training in Russia in 2016 with a focus on different troops working together. You should not twist this into anything – there’s no politics," explained Konvashenkov emphasizing that the drills should not be construed as a message to Russia’s neighbors despite the West’s rush to describe it as just that. The war games come one month after President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of sending a group of saboteurs into Crimea to engage in terror strikes against Russian personnel adding to Western suspicions that Moscow wants to make its control over the peninsula clear Read more: https://sputniknews.com/russia/20160911/1045183103/russia-crimea-war-games-military.html

U.S. all Domains War Game in South Korea United States, and the Republic of Korea will kick off the largest war game in water surrounding the South Korea, beginning March 21, 2017. The exercises involved U.S. Navy ships assigned to Command Task Force (CTF) 30, and CTF 70, to strengthen maritime interoperability and tactics, techniques and procedures. This year additional surface, subsurface, and air assets joining the bilateral exercise include aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, Carrier Air Wing 2, Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Barry (DDG 52), USS Wayne E Meyer (DDG 108), USS McCampbell (DDG 85), USS Stethem (DDG 63), Los Angeles-class nuclear fast attack submarine USS Columbus (SSN 762), and P-3 and P-8 Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft from Commander Task Force 72. The exercises will consist of a routine bilateral training, subject matter expert exchanges, anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare drills, communication drills, air defense exercises, counter-mine planning and distinguished visitor embarkations. Rear Adm. James Kilby, commander, Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group said that this exercise is yet another example of the strength and resolve of the combined U.S. and the ROK naval force, the U.S. and the Republic of Korea share one of the strongest alliances in the world, and we grow stronger as an alliance because of our routine exercises here in South Korea, and the close relationship and ties that we forge from operating at sea together. His counterpart, Rear Adm, Choi, Sung-Mok, the chief of staff for the Republic of Korea Fleet said, that this defensive exercise focuses on enhancing the interoperability between the ROK and US navies, and helps both navies maintain a combined defense posture to protect the ROK from future North Korean unprovoked acts of aggression. USS Carl Vinson carrier strike group deployed to the region under U.S. 3rd Fleet command and control, including beyond the international dateline, which previously divided operational areas of responsibility for 3rd and 7th Fleets. Third Fleet operating forward offers additional options to the Pacific Fleet commander by leveraging the capabilities of 3rd and 7th Fleets. This operational concept allows both numbered fleets to complement one another and provide the foundation of stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The U.S. Navy maintains a presence in the Indo-Asia-Pacific to help preserve peace and security and further our partnerships with friends and allies. Our forward presence contributes to freedom of navigation and lawful use of the sea, as well as furthers operational training and enables an exchange of culture, skills, and tactical knowledge.
